Our Team

Sarı, who worked for many years at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, carried out numerous studies for the conservation of Van Lake pearl mullet and sustainable fisheries. During these efforts, he developed a new participatory model called the “Problem-Based Social Participation Model” and was named “2007 Social Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young, Milliyet Newspaper, and Schwab Foundation. His TEDx Istanbul talk in 2017 became one of the most-watched speeches. Since 2016, he has been working at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Maritime. He conducts academic research in the fields of ecosystem management, fisheries management, social entrepreneurship, and marine meteorology. In recent years, he has been actively working on making fisheries in the Sea of Marmara sustainable, preventing mucilage, and protecting Pinnas.

Karadurmuş, an academic, marine scientist, and professional diver, works at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. He has participated in various research projects in the fields of environment, fisheries, and marine sciences. Adopting the principles of blue growth, climate change, and sustainable development goals, Karadurmuş is now joining the fight to protect Pinnas.

Benli, a First-Class Diver and 2* Diving Instructor, works as a diving instructor at the Erdek Diving Club. He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics at Dokuz Eylül University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. Having dedicated years to protecting marine life in the Gulf of Erdek, Benli is now supporting efforts to conserve Pinnas.
